Thanks Corey!
Na 6 seizoenen hebben V.O.C. en Corey Rutgers in onderling overleg besloten afscheid van elkaar te nemen. Corey heeft als coach en overseas speler een zeer succesvolle periode beleefd in Rotterdam.
In het eerste seizoen werd beslag gelegd op de eerste Topklasse titel sinds 1994 en vervolgens won V.O.C. 1 ook vier keer de T20 beker. In 2019 werd V.O.C. als eerste team ooit gekroond tot Kings of Europe na het winnen van de Europese Champions League (ECL) in Spanje.
De afgelopen twee seizoenen was Corey aanvoerder van V.O.C. 2. Corey is vooral in staat gebleken om er een hecht elftal van te maken met een geweldige team spirit. Ook kregen veel jonge spelers de kans om zich te laten zien en zij droegen bij aan het succes. Vorig seizoen werd V.O.C. 2 kampioen in de Overgangsklasse en promoveerde het naar de Eerste Klasse. Dit jaar was handhaving het doel en dat werd al in een vroeg stadium veiliggesteld. Daarnaast won V.O.C. 2 ook de Eerste Klasse T20 beker, waardoor het volgend jaar in de Hoofdklasse T20 competitie uit zal komen.
We danken Corey voor z’n rol in de afgelopen jaren en wensen hem veel succes toe in zijn carrière als coach en commentator bij cricket wedstrijden.

After 6 seasons, V.O.C. and Corey Rutgers have mutually decided to part ways after the recent cricket season. Corey has had a very successful period as a coach and overseas player in Rotterdam. In the first season we won the first Topklasse title since 1994 and then V.O.C. 1 also won the T20 cup four times. For the past two seasons, Corey captained V.O.C. 2. Above all, Corey has been able to make it a close-knit team with a great team spirit. Many young players also got the chance to show themselves and they contributed to the success. Last season, V.O.C. 2 became champions in the Overgangsklasse and were promoted to the Eerste Klasse. This year, avoiding relegation was the goal and that was secured at an early stage. In addition, V.O.C. 2 also won the Eerste Klasse T20 cup, meaning they will play in the Hoofdklasse T20 competition next year.
